Jan Beelen has been an Attorney-at-law in the Real Estate section since 2024. Previously, Jan worked for over four years as an attorney at a niche law firm specializing in Real Estate law. Jan specializes in advising and litigating in the areas of civil Real Estate Law and public Environmental Law. The focus of his practice is on spatial (re)developments, area development, small and large-scale project development, public-private partnerships and (for example) drafting and litigating about anterior agreements and cooperation agreements. Jan represents public as private clients.
Jan stands for an energetic, thorough and decisive approach. This approach is not always average but always active, creative and effective. This means practical and cooperative where possible but tough and sharp when necessary. Previously Jan was a member of the city council of the municipality of Zandvoort through which he gained valuable knowledge and experience in public administration.
Jan completed a master's degree in civil law at Leiden University in 2019. In 2016, Jan studied for one semester at the Jean Moulin 3 Université in Lyon. In 2017, Jan studied for one semester at the Universidad de Granada. Furthermore, Jan studied one semester at the University of Glasgow in 2018. In 2023, Jan completed the professional training for lawyers with a focus on civil and administrative law.
Jan is an active member of the association Jong Onroerend Goed Haaglanden (JOH). The JOH is an association for young real estate professionals up to 36 years old and connected to (greater) The Hague. In 2024, Jan (co-)organized the study trip to Lyon.
