Elisabeth Pietermaat joined Pels Rijcken’s Administrative Law team in 2000 and became partner in 2009. Elisabeth is an authority on government transparency (Woo and Wob) and other constitutional issues relating to domestic governance, such as integrity issues, obligations of directors to provide information, referenda, reclassifications, powers of the local audit authority and inter-administrative cooperation. Thanks to her excellent understanding of administrative and political relations, she is a valued and trusted public administration advisor in these areas. Elisabeth is also an expert on healthcare regulation. Her clients include the Dutch State Secretary of Justice & Security and the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service for migration law.
Elisabeth is a regular contributor to professional journals. Together with Nina Bontje, for example, she writes the Chronicle on transparency and integrity in the Dutch Administrative Law Journal. She also serves as a guest lecturer for the Association of Dutch Municipalities, the Study Centre for the Administration of Justice and Utrecht University, among others. Elisabeth is a member of the Sounding Board Group on Legal Formation of Administrative Law established by the chairman of the Administrative Jurisdiction Division in 2015. She is also a member of the Dutch Administrative Law Association and the Health Law Association.
