Sebastiaan Cnossen has been practicing EU and competition law at Pels Rijcken since 2016. His practice covers the full spectrum of European and economic regulatory law, with a particular focus on state aid and competition law. He has also developed particular expertise in regulatory issues relating to energy and pensions. In addition, he advises and represents companies in national and international commercial disputes, particularly in cartel damage cases.
Sebastiaan graduated cum laude from the University of Groningen with a master’s degree in European Law and International Relations. He also spent six months studying at Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires, where he followed courses on the law of the Mercosur. Before joining Pels Rijcken, Sebastiaan undertook internships at various (Brussels-based) law firms. He also worked for a short time at a Brussels-based lobbying firm and completed a Blue Book Traineeship at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition. Sebastiaan is a member of the Competition Law Association and the Dutch Association for European Law.
