Marc Bakkum

Marc Bakkum joined Pels Rijcken’s Administrative Law department in 2021, where he focuses on a wide range of administrative law issues. He has extensive experience in advising and litigating on the application of the Open Government Act (Wet open overheid) and associated regulations. In addition, Marc focuses on public order issues, the enforcement of the Alcohol Act, and the allocation of scarce rights.

Prior to joining Pels Rijcken, Marc held a position at Leiden University, where he taught constitutional and administrative law and conducted academic research on government information transparency and subsidy law. He obtained master's degrees in Constitutional and Administrative Law and Management of the Public Sector from the same university. During his studies, he gained practical experience within the legal profession and the judiciary.
