Josanne Waalkens has been working at Pels Rijcken since 2024. She specializes in administrative (procedural) law and has experience with market regulation and other administrative law subjects, such as administrative fines and supervisory and enforcement powers of administrative bodies. She litigates for and advises ministries and regulators. Within the administrative law section, Josanne focuses on general administrative law and supervision and enforcement.
Josanne studied Private Law at the University of Amsterdam. Before that, she studied International Technoloy Management at the HTS in Groningen. Josanne successfully completed the Grotius specialization course in Financial Law. Before joining Pels Rijcken, Josanne worked as legal counsel in the fines & penalties department of De Nederlandsche Bank. Before that, Josanne was a lawyer (administrative law and regulated markets) at Bird&Bird.
Josanne is a member of the Administrative Law Association (VAR) and she comments on a number of Awb provisions for Sdu.
