Jorrit van der Weide has been an attorney-at-law since 2001. He has been working at Pels Rijcken since 2007. Jorrit conducts a civil law practice with an emphasis on insolvency law. Jorrit acts on behalf of (semi) governmental authorities that have their own interests in relation to (impending) bankruptcies, such as continuity of services. In addition, Jorrit regularly represents other parties involved in insolvencies, such as creditors, directors, shareholders and candidates for a relaunch. Jorrit regularly conducts negotiations with bankruptcy trustees, and knows which interests they represent and how they act in negotiations. If necessary, Jorrit litigates against bankruptcy trustees. In addition, Jorrit advises and litigates in the field of directors' liability and financing and securities.
Jorrit studied law in Amsterdam. He completed the Grotius courses in insolvency law and financial economics for bankruptcy trustees.
