Jolien Bruinewoud specialises in Employment and Public Service Law. She advises and litigates on matters of integrity, dismissal, co-determination, modification of employment conditions, equal treatment, employer liability and disciplinary measures, among others. She assists clients in both the public and private sector.
Jolien attended a bachelor's degree in Dutch law at the University of Groningen. She then obtained a master's degree in labor law from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. During her studies, Jolien was a general board member at an international student association, president of a local student union and the student member of a faculty board. She gained experience within the legal profession as a working student and by following an internship.
She is a member of the association servants & law (in Dutch: Vereniging Ambtenaar & Recht) (VA&R). She publishes in professional journals. She also conducts research into the impact of the normalization of the legal status of civil servants (in Dutch: Wet normalisering rechtspositie ambtenaren) on the judiciary.
