Georges Dictus joined Pels Rijcken in 2013. His practice focuses on a wide range of aspects of European law and Dutch administrative law. Georges conducts proceedings for central and local governments and public regulatory authorities in the area of the internal market, food law, Public Enterprises (Market Activities) Act and state aid. He advises governments, research institutes, sports clubs, nature organisations and various other institutions on identifying and covering risks regarding state aid. Georges has in-depth experience in conducting proceedings involving sector-specific regulation (telecom, healthcare and gambling).
In addition to his legal work, Georges is a regular contributor to the Dutch State Aid Journal and blogs about European administrative law matters on our Administrative Law Blog. Georges received his master’s degree in European Law from Leiden University and the College of Europe in Bruges, and spent a semester studying in the United States. Prior to this, he worked briefly as an EU law consultant at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Georges is a member of the Dutch Association for European Law, the Dutch Association for Food Law and the Administrative Law Association (VAR).
