Emmeline van Heukelem has been Director of Risk and Compliance at Pels Rijcken since March 1st 2022. In her position, Emmeline further defines the structure of our Risk and Compliance department and compliance with laws and regulations, rules of conduct, integrity and risk management.
Emmeline previously worked as a supervisor for nine years, initially at the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and since 2015 at the European Central Bank (ECB) in Frankfurt. As Principal Supervisor, she worked on a wide range of governance and compliance issues in the financial sector. On behalf of the ECB, she also worked at the European Banking Authority (EBA) in Paris for one year to coordinate policies related to integrity. Emmeline also worked as a lawyer in the M&A practice for more than five years. She started her career at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.
Over the years, Emmeline provided various training courses at DNB, ECB, EBA and Leiden University.
