Jan Wertheim has been a legal assistant in Pels Rijcken's Supreme Court practice since 2025. He supports the lawyers of the Supreme Court practice section in proceedings before the Supreme Court of the Netherlands that concern a broad range of private and commercial law topics.
Jan graduated with honours (cum laude) from the University of Groningen, where he completed the Master in Legal Research. Previously he had obtained a bachelor's degree (cum laude) from that same university. During his studies Jan gained experience in legal practice as a student-employee at Pels Rijcken. He also worked as a student assistant at the University of Groningen.
In addition, Jan is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Private Law and Notarial Law of the University of Groningen. He is writing a dissertation there in the field of secured transactions law.
