Ivo Barends

Ivo Barends has been an attorney at Pels Rijcken since 2024. His practice focuses on various aspects of European law, specializing in competition law. He advises ministries, regulators and decentralized authorities and represents them in both administrative and civil proceedings.

Ivo received his bachelor's degree from the Utrecht Law College, Utrecht University's honors program. He obtained two master's degrees. At the University of Amsterdam, he obtained his master's degree in Private Law. In addition, Ivo completed the Master's Law & Economics (cum laude) at Utrecht University. During his studies, Ivo gained experience as a legal assistant.
