After gaining experience in the judiciary, Iris began her career as a lawyer in 2007. As a member of the Criminal Law department, she advises on and litigates in civil cases with criminal aspects, including the application of criminal jurisdiction, attachment under criminal law and compensation for damages.
Iris received her master’s degree in Dutch Law from the University of Amsterdam and completed the Grotius Specialist programme in Financing and Security with distinction in 2014. Her broad legal interests and her experience gained both in the judiciary and at her previous firms, in commercial litigation and large cross-border restructuring and bankruptcy cases enable her to advise and represent her clients efficiently in a broad range of cases. Iris is a member of: the editorial team of the Dutch Attachment, Enforcement & Civil Procedure in Practice journal (Beslag, Executie & Rechtsvordering in de praktijk), the Dutch Procedural Law Association, and the Dutch Civil Law Association.
