Concetta Allegra has been an attorney at Pels Rijcken since 2025 and is part of the Employment and Public Service Law practice group. She advises and litigates on a variety of issues in both collective and individual employment law. Her particular interests include transfers of undertakings, reorganizations, (the harmonization of) employment conditions, individual dismissal cases, equal treatment (including pay transparency) and cross-border employment. Concetta assists both public and private employers. She quickly fathoms complex issues which she translates into feasible solutions. Her approach is client-oriented and no nonsense. Concetta has been an attorney since 2004 and has focused entirely on (civil) employment law since 2006. She took a short two-year hiatus to teach Employment Law and Social Policy at the University of Utrecht, but then chose to return to the legal profession.
Concetta studied private law at Utrecht University, where she spent part of her studies at the Law Faculty of the University of Rome (La Sapienza). In 2011, Concetta completed the postgraduate Grotius specialization course in Employment Law (cum laude). Since pension is basically an employment condition, in 2020 she also attended and obtained (cum laude) the post-academic Leergang Pensioenrecht at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is a certified pension lawyer.
Concetta still occasionally lectures (guest lectures) at Utrecht University. She is a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), Dutch Employment Lawyers Association (VAAN), The Hague Employment Lawyers Association (VHAA), Association for Employment Law (VvA) and the Association of Pension Lawyers (VvPJ). Concetta publishes with some regularity.
