Karen litigates and advises on a variety of administrative law issues. In particular, she focuses on issues in the areas of supervision and enforcement, disciplinary law and regulation with a focus on the financial sector, healthcare and on the fields of food law and animal welfare.
Karen completed her Master's degree in Constitutional and Administrative Law at Utrecht University and also completed a Master's degree in Criminal Law cum laude at the Free University of Amsterdam. During her studies, Karen worked at a court and law firm and volunteered to provide legal advice to individuals. Karen published articles on food law enforcement and on the administrative law protection of health care providers. Previously, Karen worked at Wijn & Stael Advocaten in Utrecht, where she advised and litigated in the areas of administrative law and healthcare, with a focus on cases at the intersection of public and private law.
