Emma has been working as a lawyer in the Innovation, Privacy and Technology department since 2024. She advises and litigates primarily on legal aspects of technology and innovation, such as IT contracts, privacy law, and intellectual property rights. She represents companies, government bodies, and non-profit organizations.
Emma obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law at Utrecht Law College (honours programme). She then completed both a master’s degree in Civil Law with a specialization in Intellectual Property (cum laude) and a master’s degree in Encyclopaedia and Philosophy of Law (cum laude) at Leiden University.
During her studies, Emma gained experience as a paralegal and student trainee at various law firms. She also served as an external clerk at the Court of Appeal of The Hague.
Alongside her work, Emma is a member of the editorial board of the legal journal Mediaforum. She is also a member of the Dutch Association for Privacy Law (VPR).
