Max Vetzo has been an attorney-at-law at Pels Rijcken since 2025, advising and litigating on a variety of matters within the field of administrative law.
Max studied Law (Utrecht Law College, cum laude) at Utrecht University and the University of Cambridge. After completing the Legal Research Master (cum laude) at Utrecht University, he conducted PhD research into the constitutional role of courts in cases of major societal and political significance. He obtained his doctorate cum laude for his thesis 'Constitutional Procedure' in 2025. As part of his doctoral research, Max was a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School in 2023. During his studies, he completed internships at several law firms and the Multilateral Institutions and Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Max frequently publishes in the field of constitutional law and administrative law. He is a (co-)author of books, book chapters and articles on diverse topics, such as European human rights, the Dutch Constitution and the judicialization of politics.
